INCLUSIVITY

Inclusivity at SINGLZ events: who belongs here and why it matters

SINGLZ organises singles club nights in major cities across the Netherlands. These events are open to any adult who is single, regardless of age, gender, or background. This page outlines how the event is structured to accommodate a broad range of participants, what conditions apply, and what attendees can reasonably expect from the format.

What makes a SINGLZ night truly inclusive?

Inclusivity at a SINGLZ event refers to the deliberate removal of unnecessary barriers to participation. At SINGLZ, this means the event is accessible to adults of varying ages, genders, and backgrounds without applying selective criteria beyond one clearly defined eligibility condition. The format a standard club night with a DJ, music, and a social atmosphere is chosen specifically because it does not require participants to perform, follow structured interactions, or meet any social threshold to engage. The environment is intended to reflect the conditions of a naturally occurring social setting, rather than a curated or filtered one.

Why "single" is the only requirement that matters

The single-status requirement is the structural foundation of the event, not a restriction in the conventional sense. Its function is to establish a shared social context among all attendees. No verification mechanism exists for this condition, but it is clearly communicated prior to purchase and is understood as the core agreement between the event organiser and the participant. Beyond this, no criteria are applied based on gender identity, relationship history, nationality, or appearance.

Who is welcome

Who this event is designed for

Adults aged 18 and above who are currently single and comfortable in a club-style social environment. The event accommodates three broad age groups 18–30, 30–45, and 45+ all present within the same venue simultaneously.

Who this format is not suited to

Individuals who are not single, as this conflicts with the core condition of attendance. The format is also not suited to those who expect a structured or facilitated meeting process, as no such system exists at SINGLZ events.

No fender or background restrictions

There are no restrictions based on gender, sexual orientation, or cultural background. Attendance is open across these dimensions, and no quota is applied per demographic group beyond the age-and-gender monitoring used to guide overall event balance.

How the event structure removes social pressure

SINGLZ events operate without any scheduled interaction rounds, algorithmic matching, or assigned pairings. Attendance does not create an obligation to speak with any specific person or group. Participants move through the evening at their own discretion, engaging only when and with whom they choose. This structure is intentional: it removes the performance dynamic common to speed-dating or structured matchmaking formats.

The use of a standard club night format with music, dancing, and informal socialising means that no single mode of interaction is prioritised. Participants may choose to dance, stand at the bar, or engage in conversation. The absence of a structured programme distributes social agency equally across all attendees, regardless of personality type or social confidence.

Events typically run from approximately 17:00 to 01:00. Attendees are free to arrive and move through the venue without restriction. There is no registration desk interaction, assigned seating, or timed segment that would require participants to be present in a specific place at a specific time.

How SINGLZ maintains balance without restricting access

Ticket sales are monitored across three age categories (18–30, 30–45, and 45+) and by gender to assess the overall composition of each event. This monitoring is used as an informational tool to guide event management decisions where necessary. It does not function as a gatekeeping mechanism and does not result in ticket refusals based on demographic profile. The goal is to avoid significant imbalances in attendance that would alter the social dynamic of the evening, while keeping access as open as the format allows.

Safety, respect, and how uncomfortable situations are handled

  • Core behavioural standard All attendees are expected to interact respectfully and to observe personal boundaries throughout the event. This is the primary conduct requirement and applies equally to all participants without exception.
  • Reporting channels Any attendee who experiences or witnesses behaviour they consider inappropriate may report it directly to the SINGLZ event team or to venue security personnel. Both channels are available throughout the evening.
  • Response process All reports are reviewed and addressed by the event team or security in accordance with the seriousness of the situation. The specific response is determined on a case-by-case basis, with the wellbeing of participants as the primary consideration.
  • Voluntary contact exchange Participants may choose to exchange contact details if both parties are comfortable doing so. This is entirely discretionary and is not facilitated or encouraged by the event format in any structured way.

What to realistically expect as a first-time attendee

  1. 1
Ticket purchase Tickets are purchased through the SINGLZ website via the integrated Weeztix ticketing system. During purchase, attendees provide basic information including name, gender, age, and city of residence. Tiered pricing applies depending on when the ticket is purchased (early bird, regular, or late).
  2. 2
Arrival and entry There is no structured onboarding or orientation at the door. Entry follows standard venue procedures. No name badge, group assignment, or introductory session is required upon arrival.
  3. 3
During the event The evening functions as a regular club night. Music, dancing, and informal socialising are the primary activities. There are no scheduled segments, compulsory interactions, or facilitated introductions at any point during the event.
  4. 4
Social interaction Interaction with other attendees is entirely self-directed. The shared single status among all participants is the only contextual difference from a standard club night. No icebreakers, prompts, or guided activities are provided by the event team.
  5. 5
End of evening The event concludes at approximately 01:00. There is no formal closing segment, debrief, or follow-up mechanism organised by SINGLZ after the event ends.

FAQ

That's a valid option there's no requirement to interact. The format is a club night, not a workshop, so you're free to enjoy the music and engage only if something feels natural. Most people find that the shared context lowers the barrier slightly, but nothing is expected of you. Coming as you are is entirely acceptable.

Pricing is tiered across three levels:

  • Early bird: €15
  • Regular: €20
  • Late: €25

The €10 gap between earliest and latest is meaningful for a single night out. Early bird availability is limited and sells first, so if you're already planning to attend, purchasing early is the straightforward financial choice.

SINGLZ outcomes vary based on who attends that night, venue atmosphere, and timing. The format is built for low-pressure, repeated exposure rather than one guaranteed encounter. Whether returning makes sense depends on whether you found the environment comfortable the connection element is inherently variable and cannot be predicted by any single attendance.

The core difference is structure. Speed dating uses timed rounds and mandatory pairings. SINGLZ operates as a standard club night no rounds, no assignments, no timer. You approach, or don't, entirely on your own terms. There's no moment where you're expected to sit across from a stranger and perform. That specific pressure is absent by design.

Two reporting channels are available throughout the evening:

  • Singlz event team (on-site staff)
  • Venue security personnel

Response depends on the nature and severity of the situation, assessed case-by-case. Having dual channels means you're not relying on a single point of contact if one is occupied or unavailable.

Audience composition varies by event date, ticket sales, and marketing reach. SINGLZ monitors demographic balance per event rather than tracking individual repeat attendance. If seeing familiar faces concerns you, attending across different dates or cities is the practical approach, though availability depends on where events are scheduled at the time.

The 45+ age group is one of three actively tracked categories, meaning tickets in that bracket are monitored to maintain reasonable representation. You won't be the only person in your age range, though the exact mix differs per event. The venue is a club night if that format suits you regardless of age, the event is structured to accommodate it.

Standard tickets are not automatically refundable through SINGLZ directly. An optional ticket protection add-on is available at purchase for €1.68 with that, refund requests are handled by Weeztix under their policy. Without it, refund eligibility falls under the ticketing provider's general terms. It's worth reviewing those terms at checkout before completing your purchase.

Venue layout varies per event. Club nights typically include lower-volume areas near the bar or peripheral spaces but this depends on the specific venue. If conversation-friendly space matters to you, arriving earlier in the evening tends to help, as the atmosphere is generally calmer before the night peaks. Venue-specific details are available when event locations are announced.
